AI Unplugged
What if AI could transform learning—without internet access?
That’s what we explored at AI Unplugged, a global conversation on using offline AI to support teachers, empower students, and promote girls’ education in remote communities. The event was held at McGill on October 7th, 2025. We were delighted to welcome NEES Brazil, Change for Children, Embrace International and Crossroads International to present their use of EdTech around the world. Following the presentations, we discussed the issues ranging from AI bias, ethical considerations, the roles of teachers in the classroom, content development and the need to close the digital divide for students in the Global South. We appreciated the participation of our many partners, McGill students and researchers for the thoughtful conversation.

And big thank you to NORD Consulting at McGill for organizing the event for 60 million girls.

We invite you to explore concrete, real-world applications of AI that are already supporting teachers and students from Brazil to Uganda and beyond. This isn’t about theoretical possibilities—it’s about proven solutions making a difference today.
Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the solution.
We will also share insight on our two exceptional projects which will be made possible by the generous donors who answer the call of our 2025 fundraising campaign: empowering girls with digital climate education and experiential learning in Ghana, and supporting climate change education in Rwanda.
