Partner testimonials – Healthbridge Foundation

This blog post is part of “20 Years, 20 Stories,” a series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 60 million girls Foundation. Over the next eight months, we will share the stories of the people who have shaped our journey — volunteers, partners, donors, and the girls at the heart of our mission. We hope their voices inspire you as much as they inspire us.

Two powerful testimonials from Nepal: discover how our partnership with the Healthbridge Canada Foundation is transforming sexual and reproductive health education, through the voices of a teacher and a student.

In this first touching testimonial, Bishnu Yogi, a 10th-grade student at Sikhi Karnali Mavi Range school, shares how the Mobile Learning Lab (MLL) has transformed her education. From gaining the confidence to ask questions freely, to learning about critical health topics like the risks of early marriage and the importance of sexual health, Bishnu’s story is a testament to the real-world impact that access to quality learning resources can have on a young person’s life.

In this second testimonial, Sumitra Shahi, a health teacher and Comprehensive Sexual Education resource person, shares how the “Retaining Schools” project with the Healthbridge Foundation has transformed the way she approaches sensitive health topics like sexuality and reproductive health. What was once difficult to discuss is now addressed with confidence and openness — thanks to digital tools that have not only strengthened the relationship between teachers and students, but also empowered young people to bring these important conversations back to their own families and communities.
